Synology® Showcases its New NAS Servers and DiskStation Manager 3.1 OS at Computex Taipei 2011
Taipei, Taiwan—May 31, 2011— On the opening day of Computex Taipei 2011, Synology showcased its all-new xs series NAS servers and award-winning DiskStation Manager 3.1 (DSM 3.1) operating system which provides feature-rich applications.
xs series NAS servers with high performance, massive scalability and storage capacity over 100TB
Designed for large-scale businesses, the brand-new xs series NAS servers feature stunning performance and deliver data throughput breaking 1,000 MB/sec and 100,000 IOPS. In addition to default 4 Gigabit ports, they support dual 10GbE ports on an add-on network interface card to offer optimal bandwidth. Connected to two expansion units via Infiniband cables that carry 12Gb/s SATA signal, the storage capacity of xs series NAS servers can be expanded to more than 100TB on a single volume. Businesses can purchase expansion units depending on their demands, and thus significantly reduce their initial investment on IT equipments.
Storage solutions ideal for business users
Running on DSM 3.1 which provides comprehensive iSCSI support, Synology xs series NAS servers provide seamless storage solutions for major virtualization servers, including VMware® vSphere™, Citrix® XenServer™, and Microsoft® Hyper-V™. DSM 3.1 provides rich business features, such as cross-platform backup, Windows® ADS and ACL support, web server, FTP server, mail server, IP surveillance solutions, and AirPrint support.
Multimedia applications
DSM 3.1 extends users’ multimedia experiences by providing DLNA media server, personalized web albums and blogs, download server, etc. Spotting an increasing demand for mobile applications, Synology provides comprehensive support for iOS and Android™ devices. Availability
Synology xs series NAS servers will be available worldwide in the third quarter of 2011.
Synology DiskStation Manager 3.1 (DSM 3.1) operating system is available on all Synology NAS server.
