Synology® Upgrades to Full ONVIF Membership

Taipei, Taiwan—July 17, 2012—Synology® Inc., a provider of professional IP-based video surveillance that combines the functionality of NVR and network attached storage (NAS), today announced that it has gained full membership of Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) to support the continuous development of open IP video networking devices and software.

“By adopting ONVIF global standard, Synology users will be benefited from seamless integration that has a high level of flexibility and freedom of choice as it ensures interoperability between Synology products and ONVIF compatible IP surveillance devices,” said Chad Chiang, product manager of Synology Inc. In addition, system integrators, installers, and developers can experience hassle-free network surveillance unification and eliminates the extra integration.

“Synology is the only vendor who is dedicated in NVR and video backup among all ONVIF full members. We will actively participate in the work of the forum, and users can expect Synology to establish a greater standard for IP camera and NVR integration in the foreseeable future,” added Chiang.
